A Hummingbird's Blog...for kids of all ages!
Hi kids, parents, and adults who happened to stop by. My name is Anna and I’m about to become a “mom”, a “hummingbird” mom that is. I’m very excited about this. I’ve already built my nest and even laid two eggs. In fact, right now I’m sitting on the nest. My nest is in a tree in the back yard of Barb and Ken Kurtz. They live in Tucson, Arizona where there are also a lot of cacti besides trees. Anyway, Barb loves hummingbirds and has looked every spring for the last seven years for a hummingbird nest in her yard. Last year I built my nest in her neighbor’s tree but this year I decided to surprise her and built my nest in one of her trees. Boy was she excited when she found me. I’ll tell you about that later. Since I’m going to have some extra time to think while I sit on these eggs and since Barb has a camera, we decided to form a team and share my story. We will be telling my story day by day as it happens because we don’t know the ending. Barb says this is called “blogging.” She told me to keep it short so I guess I’ve blogged enough for today. Oh, don’t forget to click on the photo below and meet the Kurtz’s before you go. See you tomorrow!

We can't wait to see a picture. What color are the eggs?
